Dear Prayer Partners:
My morning bible reading has been through 1 Chronicles. It is most encouraging to read verses that speak to building. David was accumulating materials for Solomon to build the temple. Yet I see a parallel with the work the Lord is building here. These verses in particular caught my heart:
1 Chronicles:
22:15 pp "Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance….. all
manner of cunning men for every manner of work."
At this, I cried unto the Lord to send like men to this work.
22:18 & 19 "Is not the Lord your God with you? and hath he not given you rest
on every side? …the land is subdued before the Lord and before his people.
Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God, arise therefore,
and build …"
This verse speaks directly to building the temple. The Lord has risen with healing in His wings and is building us, His living stones, into a temple for His glory. But has He not also given us (at least for today) rest in Benson from enemies? Do we not still enjoy the freedom to 'rise and build'? And I wondered: when we set our heart and soul to seek the Lord, does He not set us to build for Him in some way?
28:21 "… and there shall be with thee for all manner of workmanship
every willing skillful man, for any manner of service…"
29:5 "… who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the Lord?"
At these words, I asked the Lord if we couldn't also be favored with men like this: men of His who are willing and skillful and consecrated to build His work. Would this not be His doing to call men for the task?
Thank you for sharing in the prayer needs of this ministry.
Under His Wing,
Ana
